Left: Hamza the big brother and the team of coxless Four.Despite the bombings, the lack of resources and the chaos, they are rowing together towards this dream.
Theseathletes, who represent a sport that is scarcely known and receives little support in Iraq, have never given up. Quite to the contrary. Despite their not-so-promising ranking in international competitions, they firmly believe in themselves and hope to participate in the London 2012 Olympics. Despite the gap between their aspirations and the realitythey face, these athletes symbolise the aspirations of an Iraqi youth that is impulsive and determined.
"Bagdad Galère" tells the story of this extraordinary adventure through a 52-minute documentary that is being written day-by-day until the summer of 2012.
The EDF group, apartner of the French Federation of Rowing Societies and official partner of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, is participating in this human adventure by lending its support to the documentary.
Through"Bagdad Galère", EDF is joining the team, which shares values close to those of the group, such as team spirit and always trying to excel.
Togetherwe are going to accompany these rowers, who dream with hope, as they progress as sportsmen, as a group and as humans until the 2012 Olympics.
