Since water is at the heart of EDF’s role as an energy company, we have made a long-term commitment to water sports. We have supported the French federation of rowing clubs (Fédération Française des Sociétés d’Aviron - FFSA) and the French canoeing and kayaking federation (Fédération Française de Canoë-kayak - FFCK) for more than 20 years and the French swimming federation (Fédération Française de Natation – FFN) since 2005.
Through our partnership with the European Rugby Cup (ERC) we are also active in rugby, the ultimate team sport, symbolizing the Group's commitment in Europe.

As a socially responsible company, EDF encourages sport for everyone. For the past 17 years, in association with the French disabled sports federation (Fédération Française Handisport), we have contributed to the promotion and practice of disabled sports, an area which is currently not well covered by the media.
Our Group is also mobilized around a commitment to leading the energy change. In developing corporate social responsibility initiatives in partnership with various federations, we are seeking to raise public awareness of something that we consider to be vitally important: saving energy.

In choosing to be the official sponsor and sustainability partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, EDF is making a major commitment. We plan to ensure that this event is the opportunity to launch a wide-ranging public awareness campaign on climate change issues.
As a partner of the French National Olympic and Sport Committee for the past three Olympic Games, we are also delighted to be supporting the French teams in the run-up to the forthcoming 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
In addition to backing Team France, we also support top-level individual sports men and women. Whether they are able-bodied or disabled, employees or sponsored by EDF, they all belong to Team EDF, with a vocation to be the ambassadors of this collective commitment to the wider community.
With the London 2012 Olympic Games, we are looking to build a lasting legacy in sport and for society for the benefit of future generations.
